Hi, I’m Mairi…a professional and enthusiastic Mindfulness and Life Coach, specialising in the awesome world of Dance Meditation! With a rich background as a former health practitioner, I’m here to help you unleash your true potential in the most joyful and engaging way possible.
My journey has taken me from healthcare and education into the heart of mindfulness, where I now blend compassion, knowledge, and a sprinkle of fun to guide amazing women like you on a path of self-discovery and empowerment. I’m passionate about creating a space where you can embrace your authentic self and explore the full spectrum of your emotions through movement and mindfulness.
Professional Journey:
For over a decade, I worked within in various hospitals helping to improving the lives of patients through my expertise in health and wellness. This experience ingrained in me a deep appreciation for the complexities of the body and mind and the importance of fostering well-being on both physical and emotional levels.
After a successful career in the medical field, I sought to expand my horizons and share my knowledge with a wider audience. This led me to embrace a new role as a lecturer. As well as teaching the subjects, I found the way in which individuals learn to be exceptionally interesting.
As an engaging and dynamic educator, I found fulfilment in inspiring the next generation of health professionals, empowering them to make a positive impact on the world.
The Shift to Yoga, Mindfulness and Life Coaching:
Driven by a desire to make more of a difference in people’s lives, to address personal growth in a more the holistic approach, as well as a desire to make some major changes in my career, I made a pivotal decision to transition to teach pregnant women and new mums how to physically and mentally take care of themselves through movement, breath and meditation. This evolved into teaching children Mindfulness in both primary and secondary schools.
My multifaceted background equipped me with a deep understanding of the human mind and the challenges individuals face with overthinking, negative thought patterns as well as the control the mind can have over us.
Training to be a growth coach felt like an obvious and easy next step to going deeper with my clients. My years of experience in healthcare and academia rooted me in empathy, active listening, and evidence-based practices and I wholeheartedly believe that every person possesses untapped potential and is capable of achieving their dreams.
Dance Coaching
Dancing has always been my sanctuary, a place where I can fully immerse myself in the present moment and connect deeply with my emotions. From the joy of movement to the freedom of expression, dance has been a powerful tool for focusing my mind and exploring my feelings. Driven by this passion, I decided to merge my love for dance with the practice of meditation to create a unique approach in my coaching. This fusion allows me to guide others on a journey of self-discovery and emotional release through the joy of movement. I absolutely love this integration, as it not only enriches my coaching practice but also brings a vibrant, playful energy to every session
Amidst the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, I harnessed the combined power of Mindfulness and Coaching to help us make a life-changing decision: moving from the charming village of Blairgowrie, Perth, Scotland to the vibrant town of Jávea on Spain’s East Coast.
Through Mindfulness, I was able to fully embrace the present moment and connect deeply with my feelings and aspirations. It helped me see that our dream of moving to Spain was more than just a fantasy—it was a true opportunity to align with our values and long-term goals.
Coaching then provided the practical tools I needed to tackle the details of this big move, from exploring job opportunities and education for our children to envisioning our new lifestyle.
Now, almost two years later, we’re living our dream! We’re speaking Spanish, indulging in fabulous food, and enjoying the beautiful outdoor lifestyle that Spain offers. Our journey has been a joyful and fulfilling adventure!
My coaching philosophy is built on the belief that true transformation begins with self-awareness and self-acceptance. I’m here to help women tap into their strengths, passions, and core values, and to guide them toward a clear and fulfilling sense of purpose in their lives.
